Public and private transport services without any hindrance – Minister Dilum Amunugama

Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has stated in a letter to leaders of all parties in parliament that he agrees in principle to form an all-party government.

President Rajapaksa has invited all parties represented in parliament to unite to form an all-party government.

It is reported that the President has invited main Opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya, United national Party and government ally Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

The letter added that a special meeting has been scheduled for next Friday (29) at the President’s House to discuss the new arrangement and the President has invited all party leaders for discussions.

The outline of the new government to be formed and how to form a new all party government after the resignation of the current Prime Minister and Cabinet are expected to be discussed at this special meeting.

The President has also summoned government ministers and MPs to the President’s House tomorrow (28) afternoon and will discuss the matter with them.

Meanwhile, it has been decided to hold the All Party Conference under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in two phases.

Reportedly, it has been decided to hold discussions with leaders of former allied parties of the government at the President’s House next Friday at 10.30 am.

According to political sources, the President is scheduled to hold separate discussions with the leaders of the opposition parties, next week.
